Indiana Biomass Business Conference Announced

Conference to cover all aspects of biomass business in Indiana and provide significant networking opportunities for those involved in biomass-related projects in the state.

Indianapolis, IN – October 28, 2009 – The Biofuels Institute today announced their Indiana Biomass Business Conference to be held February 9-10, 2010, at the Omni Severin Hotel in Indianapolis.

The conference seeks to further the growth of Indiana's biomass-to-energy industry through its focus on the benefits of operating in Indiana, the resources that are available within the state, and the various local, state and federal programs and incentives offered for those involved in biomass-related projects. In addition, the conference is being held during the Indiana Legislative Session, making it easy for legislators and their staff to attend, and for other attendees to speak with them about existing or potential projects.

A unique feature of the event will be a two-hour Dealmakers' Reception. Any registered attendee can reserve one of 30 tables to display materials about their potential biomass project, related services, or products. Economic development professionals from throughout Indiana can also display information about the benefits of locating a project in their local areas. The Dealmakers' Reception will be a significant networking opportunity for industry professionals, investors, farmers, grant writers, consultants, researchers, legislators, attorneys and lenders.

The conference's advisory board is made up of representatives from various state energy agencies, farm advocacy groups and energy consultants, including:

Cary Aubrey, BioEnergy Department of the State Department of Agriculture
Mark Walters, Indiana Soybean Alliance
John Kirkwood, Krieg DeVault
Travis Murphy, Indiana Office of Energy Development
Mark Rudd, Energy Asset Solutions
Tom Butler, The Sustainable Life Center
Justin Schneider, The Indiana Farm Bureau
Gary Freymiller, WISER – Western Indiana Sustainable Energy Region
